IT SUPPORT

Community MusicWorks seeks a volunteer to assist with IT support on an as-needed basis. We operate in a primarily Mac environment with a few PC laptops.  An ideal volunteer would be a Mac user, comfortable with Apple hardware/software and capable of helping staff members with basic PC issues (installing printer drivers, connecting to a wireless network).  With our increasingly busy network, a volunteer familiar with networking complexity would be a real asset. Interested individuals should contact Liz Cox at lcox@communitymusicworks.org.

PUBLICITY SUPPORT

Community MusicWorks seeks several volunteers to assist with publicizing Community MusicWorks events throughout Providence via flyer distribution and putting up posters around town in businesses and community centers. Interested individuals should have their own transportation and contact Liz Cox at lcox@communitymusicworks.org.

MUSICAL MENTOR

Can you teach the basics of violin, viola, or cello?

Would you like to make a difference in the life of a child in Providence's West End or South Side?

The commitment of a few hours each month can give a child in our community the necessary support to imagine a world with fewer limits and greater possibility.

· Musical Mentors help youth to solve technical/musical problems, gain valuable practice and listening skills, and help them develop.

It's in practicing that our kids really grow musically and gain a sense of accomplishment. Learning how to practice is just as valuable as what they learn in their lessons. It's in the practice room that they actually improve and develop skills. Musical Mentors will be directly involved with that development.

· Through the practice program, Musical Mentors will develop relationships with students and families.

Caring, mentoring, nurturing relationships with young people and their families is what the Musical Mentors program is all about.
